Head- long face with a wide snout ( komodo dragon style), an over bite that has two inwardly curving thick canines, large nostrils that are holes in the middle section of the snout ( starts 1/2" from protrusion where eyes are and ends a fulll 3" from the end of the snout), Bi scopic vision ( foward facing eyes) with small pupils and color changing whites, two moveable (lift capable) large scales that start just behind the eyes and go for 5" down and are 4" wide at widest hidden under all flaps of skin ( inner membrane pinkish, max lift 2"), throat pouch starting at the tip of the chin and extends to the breast bone of the forward legs ( hangs down in flaps) Scaly skin folds/flaps attachted at two points on body: just superior and forward of "ear" scales and the tip of the tail. The folds of the skin provide a place for Moss to get a hold on the creature and the moss is insectorvious ( roots extend into body trading some of its sugars for water, and a way to reproduce though infectation of a prey item) Feet- three forward pointed toes with short claws (bottom of feet are scales who spiral out from the center of toes and the base of the foot), between the three claws there is a webbing that is also scaled lightly, 1 toe that is facing backward and arched like a scorpions tail but the hollow claw faces backward and is about the size of a pinkie to a thumb if you compare it to the forward facing toes ( hollow tube is injection port for spores of the moss, spores once injected tend to expand and quickly follow the blood to the heart where they put down root using the heat and water of the infected to create sugars and grow...if untreated victim dies of cardiac arrest and then is consumed save the heart by the Komodo Moss) Tail- mostly muslce and non prehensile- bottom scales are faced back towards the head and the flaps of skin at the tail have small specialized scales that are in forms of hooks that the Komodo Moss uses to attach itself vertically facing towards the center of the earth....while decending cliffs/trees/walls Special abilities- able to detect magical patterns and to sipon off a small quanity of the excess energy for unknow purposes. Able to change color to match natural environment Able to mimic most natural scents of plants, and a limited capablity of mimicing other scents. Capable of semi fine manipulation of objects with fore claws. Communication happens on three levels for this creature, is capable of wide range of sound though not normal speech as a humanoid might, color changes of eyes and skin, and scent being put off by the Komodo Moss. Highly intelligent and curious due to being hatched from eggs with no guidance from any parental care. Age can be determined by # of flaps of skin...1 flap= 5 years....this Komodo Moss has 4 folds of skin and is not nearly mature....6 more flaps needed before it would be considered mature. Natural coloration is a combonation of moss green and tree bark brown, eyes tend to be forest green. Length is about four feet long from tip of snout to tip of tail, height is 18" of clearance of belly but significantly lower for flaps of skin, depending on avaiblity of food its radius of its body with out considering flaps could be between 18" and 12". |

the cliffside tavern AKA 'Woulfe's Den Tavern and Inn' "Swim, Fly, or Run! by Tobias Woulfe posted 19 September 2006 @ 21:25 The Cliffside Tavern, once a place of gathering to many, and home to perhaps more. This great place stood as an Icon to RP in Ayenee, until the great cataclysm that destroyed the paths of that world. A great many who worked there and frequented there were lost in the upheaval. For over a year, the Tavern has been trying to survive here, its staff watching the empty rooms and hoping for the vibrant patrons which once graced its tables. It has survived, despite odds against it. The feelings that created it pushing it forwards. It is not just created by the Owner, the Keepers, it is created and maintained by all who come there, it always has been. This is a call to all, Newcomers, returners and those who never left - The Cliffside still stands, as it always shall, come to the forums or come to the chat and let its doors swing wide with the ever entering shadows. If none are around to open the tavern, open the room yourselves and enjoy the RP! ~Well said Tobias, Thank you. Just a foot note, The Cliffside Tavern was thought, seen as a run down building at the top of a set of cliffs the summer of 1997. Ten years its been around. Thats a long time for any gaming realm. Thanks all who made it possible. Sirene/Aliesh" |

Shevard Slane "Shevard Slane is a hardy, middle-sized town upon the Wistren continent of Brapel. The northern regions of this already cold and very stormy planet require a tougher kind of folk like those one will find here. Superstitions, and stories of rumors, are what keep the good people of Shevard Slane entertained for 8 months of winter every year. Most of the roads are still dirt, though cobblestone would be easily obtained. However stone covered in ice is much more hazardous than earth, thus the town looks more rustic than it truly is. From the baker’s to the weapon’s store, you’ll soon find this to be a very up to date place. Once a rare short spring hits every year, there is a massive festival that takes up the entire town, and most on the ‘Leftmost' continent and even some from the others travel just to see it. A word of caution however… This area is not just boring snow and a large extravaganza once a year. Surprisingly for a town of people so accustomed to throwing an all continent fair, you’ll find much fear and doubt towards everything form the ordinary the rest of the year. It’s as if once the festival is over… it’s back to another 11 months of disbelief to anything even slightly strange. Stranger still, most travelers don’t find their way into Shevard Slane, unless they are ordinary humans. If anything, they find their way to the Black Pearl Tavern & Shoppe, which is just a one hour north westerly ride from the town. Even further to the North West, another two hours or so, if one is lucky enough, they will stumble upon Shadder Flaurn. A small little community of witches huddled away in the woods against the mountains. Within just this tiny pocket of the world, there is already much to explore and discover. Who knows what the rest of Brapel may have in store for you and your companions!" |
