Ki-yen is the son of a moon elf and a being from the air plane. From a young age he had an affinity for nature and learned how to fly by the age of five. He spent a lot of time flying up and resting in trees from then on.

At the age of forty he had met a moon elf by the name of Layanna. She meant everything to him, and for the next seven years, they were inseparable. Another elf grew jealous though, and when Layanna and Ki-yen were out for a walk, he made an attempt to attack Ki-yen. The mage threw rocks at him, and one missed sending Layanna off of a cliff. That day, Ki-yen lost his love, he also killed his first person. Layanna was never found, and he never took life seriously again, finding it one big waste of time. He grew lazy and apathetic.

He left his home, and mastered his work as a druid, eventually even joining a circle. He tried their patience a lot with his laziness, but his power and ability to read people's actions set him as an elder of the circle. The real patience tester was when he spoke to Talos.

One night the dark God of storms spoke with him, and he turned to this new God. The other elders were disgusted by his choice of violence in nature, but let him be. He left the circle when a monk killed a bunch of members including two of the six elders.

During his time under the new God he became a Storm Lord, a master of lightning. He started off slowly, and by the time he mastered it, he was sent on a quest by his God. He had to go slay a dragon so that he could prove his readiness to his God that he was capable of surviving the workings of the Gods.
