Staris's past is a bloody and rather tragic one. The village she grew up in was somewhat isolated, and very wary of strangers. The founder of the village had a grudge against high-elves, and so passed on this hatred to those around them.

When Staris's mother brought home her father, she basically started a violent chain of events that would forever effect them all. When Ramuek, her father, perceived the hostility he was causing towards Tinuviel (the mother), he left about two years after she was born, and Staris would not be reunited with him for a long time.

After he left, hostilities still continued brewing, until one night, the village finally turned against Staris and her mother. Tinuviel was killed in the bitter struggle, and Staris only survived due to the mercy of the town's silver dragon guardian. The two beings would remain close friends for the remainder of their lives.

Afterwards, Staris fled towards the mainland. From there, she fell in with the "wrong crowd", eventually extracting revenge upon the village that had killed her mother all those years ago.

It took an ultimatum from the gods to stop Staris's thirst for revenge. They bound her to protect a group of warriors who were starting to fight against a tyrant in the northern reaches.

It was among these fighters that Staris finally found a family again. Even after they disbanded, Staris remained close to them, eventually marrying the group's high-elf, Nolofin.

Finally surrounded by people she loved, Staris's age-old wounds in her heart healed, and she allowed herself peace at last.

Some of her ancient fierceness still shows, particularly when her family is threatened. She'll go out of her way to make sure they, and innocents are safe. She doesn't want to see more children have the same fate she did, so she always does her best to help others, and support truth and justice.
