Edward grew up in the wilderness with his parents. His dad had him shooting by the age of 8. Because there was only so much one could do alone in the woods, he was hitting bulls-eyes at the age of 10. By 12, he was a top notch hunter. At 14 he started going on long hunting trips by himself.

At 15, he came home from one of these trips and found his parents dead. It looked like his father had been hitting his mother, so she shot him, and then, unable to deal with it, killed herself. Still, he had no proof of any of it.

Unable to truly live alone, he set out to a small nearby village. At 16 he became a hunter for the village, and in return, a local martial arts master let him stay with him and train for free. Unable to devote his full time to the training, he never mastered the style, but he learned enough over 5 years that he eventually set out to become a bounty hunter.
