Appearance/
Stats
A broad shouldered man of about 6'8", 320 or so solid pounds. He wore dark red hair in a ponytail. He had a full beard and mustache that matched his hair. He wore chain-mail armor, that was always slate blue. Various pieces of armor were enchanted in different ways, some quite strongly.

He wielded an ancient and legendary spear, and he rode a swift black horse named Motoko.

He had great strength, as all barbarians do, but his main attribute was his wisdom. With it, he was able to cast scores of beneficial blessings, healing spells, and fiercely debilitating magic against his enemies.
Additional Information (Gundark's story describes some players I met in EQ as characters, and it reflects some of the events of my last days in that game in a more narrative form. It is not necesarily intended to reflect on the *players*, simply to tell Gundark's story as a *story*.)

Background

Gundark Viresdator - a name which means Fearsome Strengthgiver - was Ciliniel's adoptive father. He was on the leadership council of his guild with many old friends from his youth. The clan of Harmonic Chaos had grown in size, power and reputation over time, to the benefit of all members. Gundark was always known as a friendly and helpful bear of a man who was the heart and soul of the guild. When we say "bear" of a man, it is meant literally, for Gundark posessed a limited shape shift ability whereby he could take on the appearance and characteristics of a mighty Polar Bear.

His consort was a Drowess, whom he loved a great deal. She, too, was on the council of the guild Harmonic Chaos.

Change is inevitable. There came a point when Gundark's vision for the future of the clan was different from that of his old friends, and tensions grew. He felt that certain policies reflected subtle greed and self-service, and were not in the best interests of all members of the guild. He came to believe that the other members of the council had strayed from the original righteous precepts of the guild's founding. Gundark was outspoken in his opinion, and not very diplomatic at times-- but in the end he never crossed his old friends and always stood with the council.

Eventually, the rest of the council, in a bid for absolute power and control and a betrayal of trust and friendship, attempted to assassinate Gundark. His Drow companion had learned important weaknesses in his Clan. These were relayed to his unknown enemies on the council of Harmonic Chaos... who passed them on to more obvious enemies. In one unexpected night of dark betrayal, his consort attempted to stab him in the back while his entire family was slain by orcs and trolls, except for his neice Lananae, and his daughter, Ciliniel. He fought the Drowess and incapacitated her, but he chose not to slay her.

In an effort to protect his daughter, he sent the girl out with Lananae into the wildlands, away from the Viresdator ancestral homes. They rode from the castle through a secret escape route, even as the hordes of enemies broke down the gate and presumably slaughtered the castle garrison. The brave men and women, Gundark among them, fought bravely to buy Lananae and Ciliniel time to escape with their lives.

Although Ci did not see the final battle, it is *presumed* that Gundark is dead.

The women fled the enemies of Clan Viresdator for several days before they were ambushed, and as her uncle had before, Lananae fought gallantly in order to buy time for Ci to escape. Unlike with her father, Ciliniel did see her cousin fall to an orcish arrow. She too, is presumed dead.

The death of her father and cousin has driven Ciliniel Intendiere to a desire for revenge against those who would betray do wrong to Clan Viresdator.
