Treefox was part of the original Druidic Circle. He is the last surviving member of it as well. The Circle had fashioned 12 amulets, each one corresponding to one facet of the world. Each Circle member was given one. They transformed the Circle into immortals, who took on the shape of their animal totem. For years, the druidic Circle watched over nature and protected it from civilization. However, a selfish gnome learned about these amulets, and he created 12 mechanical creatures, one for each amulet. Their function was to hunt down the wearer and destroy the amulet. One night, he launched a sneak attack against the Circle using them. 8 members of the Circle were killed, and a few amulets destroyed. However, they managed to beat back and destroy seven of the inevitables. The Circle was shattered however, and they soon went into hiding.

Over time, the remaining council members were hunted down. Treefox managed to destroy the inevitable after him and so he lived in relative peace in the woods, lost to the world. After almost 3,000 years, it came to be known to him that only 5 of the amulets still survived. And that he was the last of the original wearers.

Now 7 new amulets have been forged, and a New Circle has emerged, with Treefox at its head. Where they will fit into the world after so long is a question which he is trying hard to answer.
