Tristan is part Aerial. His mother was human, in one of the few interracial relationships between the two species. While normal genies can mate with one another the result is always the genie type of the mother parent, with few if any characteristics of the father one. Relationships between Aerials and Terrans or Aquatics always create a mule, or barren being. However, in the documented human-genie relationships, this is not the case. The child is still viable and their traits become much more human. In Tristan's case, while he still has the full wings of his avian DNA, his feline DNA is less noticable. He still has feline and Avian characteristics, such as a tail, Wings, digigrade feet and some body fur, but his face and upper body looks more or less human. | |

Background
His Mother was just a child at the time of the Solar Wars. Her family happened to be stationed on the Rogue Mist, the science vessel to discover the Bric'Ta. When the ship crashed, she was the only one in her family to survive. During the years spent quarantined on the planet, she fell in love with a young Genie who had been on the Genie BattleCruiser, The Panther.
After the quarantine, they had a child, Tristan. He grew up there, Isolated from the prejudices of the old world, and safe in this one. When his mother finally died and her family managed to steal back her estate, even though she left it to her son, Tristan managed to keep hold of a transport she owned, which was at Bric'Ta at the time.
With a great deal of effort and help from friends, he fixed it up, reprogramed it and signed up for the supply route running between the Bric'ta science colony and earth, which could only be run by Genies according the the treaty.
