Crizzt nodded as he went over to the still sleeping Priestess of Eilistraee and then gentlely, but carefully pick her up without waking her up.

Sauron did feel the presence of such auras but he could not pin point them. Although his maker made him as a seeker and storage vessel for mana he did not feel such energy. Intrigued he moved out.Climbing a low wall for better vision he could make out small fires at the distance and oddly the seemd like cremation fires.

the rogue was quick to respond. she was already moving twords the occupied door.
"I will scout ahead."
disappearing from normal sight (shadowdancer skill- hide in plain sight) she slipped out the door and was making way twords the putrid smell. for once she was glad that drow didnt have as good a sence of smell as most other creatures.
she kept alert, eyes searching the shadows and looking ofr heat signatures; ears listening for the smallest of sounds that most could not hear.

Zeblithtlar heard their concerns, the drow was quite curious he had wonder if the drider was instead lying and sending the group into a trap. If he did he was certain that he would not be the one who would set off the string. He beautiful male drow slightly surved his way to the presence of Zarae bowing in the female's presence. "Mistress, allow me to cast a spell that will make you unseen in the eyes of mortal men and women to improve your efforts to scout." he requested preparing to cast a spell of invisibility upon Zarae for extra scouting capability. This was made before she would vanish away into the shadows because afterward the male drow would have no non-magical means to search for her (and the other way would be the waste of a very useful spell_

The temple of Lolth had been visibly disturbed. Most of the soldiers could be accounted for here as bodies. There was the figure of a priestess slumped over the altar, but no sign of Malayne.

"We are not alone," Zesstra said quietly, ears sharper than average to compensate for her lack of sight. There was something--no, someone--moving around inside the inner sanctum of the temple, closed off by thick spidersilk curtains so that no light from the braziers could creep into the small area of utterdark.

Upon seeing the bodies of what was left of the soldiers, Crizzt was suddenly struck by a flashback of his forgotten past.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Begining of the Flashback

"CRIZZ, LOOK OUT!!" a soldier cried as flames expoded into a huge chamber causing the young noble to dive for cover and the heat from the fire was intense, and just as suddenly as the fire had came, the fire disappears, but the dying screams of those who have been caught by the fire lasted longer. Soon as the screams died down, the young noble slowly peeks from his cover and frozed at the sight of burning bodies of soldiers, priestess, and slaves alike, and fire is every where burning every thing in sight. Then the young noble saw something shadowly or someone walking through the fire until who ever he saw was gone as if becoming part of the fire.

End of the Flashback

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crizzt shooked his head as a slight headache came at the end of the flashback and protectively held onto the still sleeping priestess of Eilistraee within his arms as he becomes very nervous.

(before she snuck off)
Zarae wasnt sure if it was a trick, but she had ways to counter it should it have been- including the thin mithril band on her middle finger. she nodded to the male.

(after taking off)
she looked to the others following. shaking her head, she guessed they didnt trust her to scout out the area. not surprised, for who would trust a drow?

(so we entered the temple then? im slightly confused...maybe im reading things wrong.)
Zarae saw the dead around. the smell not too different than what she remembered in the Kilanatlar chapel. she searched for traps as she slowly made way twords the large curtains.

(OOC: Yep. The chapel-area wasn't very far away from where the group was staying. Sorry for not being more clear.)

Zesstra paused at the sound of a moan from the inner sanctum. It made the hairs on the back of her neck prickle uncomfortably. "Malayne?" the blind drowess called. She heard the sound of someone shuffling around from behind the curtains, dragging something after them. It was like an animal trying not to be caught.

Whatever those psychic echoes belonged to, it was not a sane, rational drow.

The fabric twitched and then the figure of Malayne shuffled out, shoulders hunched and arms curled around herself. Her head was twisted to one side awkwardly, some kind of corruption tainting her body. Half of her face had been blistered and blackened, as though she'd fallen into one of the braziers--her white teeth could be seen through a hole in her charred cheek. Even Malayne's eyes didn't look right, blood red from corner to corner.

"See what...what...what they do to...to us?" Malayne was heading for the nearest warm body--Zarae--with her shaking hands outstretched. The priestess of Lolth was covered with festering wounds. "They...they...they will...will make us...burn."

"Zarae, get away from her!" Zesstra called sharply. She could feel dark, dark magic filling the chapel now. This was the poison of something worse than Lolth.

"They...they said it...it wouldn't hurt...They...they lie!" Lolth's cleric was grabbing for the nearest person now. "We...all...we willl...all burn!"

(OOC: This is why you don't play Call of Cthulhu late at night...)

"we might wanna get out of this place," the rogue replied very uneasy. something was about to happen (?). she pulled a dagger preparing for anything.

Crizzt looked around and saw something he didn't like that made the hairs on the back of his neck to stand on end, and then he shouted fearfully "We have to get out of here now!" as he begin to head for the gates. What Crizzt saw were black jars of some kind that don't belong within the chalel and seeing them triggered another flashback.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Begining of the Flashback

"It is done Crizzt Do'Zarden you have what you asked for," a High Priestess said to the newly transformed Drider.

Suddenly the doors to the chalel opened and a female guard with a burns on her came in shouting "High Priestess Drisanna, we're under attack!"

"WHAT!" Drisanna yelled in disbelief.

"High Priestess, there has been numerous explosions throughout the city," the female guard said nervously.

"Explosions, what caused them?" Drisanna asked the the guard.

"They where caused by some strange black jars," the guard answered.

"Sho, get some of the other guards of the chalel and get this creature out of the city quickly while I go to help restore order," Drisanna said as she pointed to the newly transformed Drider and then she makes her way out of the chalel.

End of the Flashback

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crizzt gotten a painful headache at the end of his second flashback, but he ignored it and soon he is at the gates, Crizzt looked back to the others.

Sauron stared at the jars and said "Hey those were the same ones or like the same ones i saw when i was created. They contain souls or daemons as you call them , if you can you can reanimate corpses." Sauron dropped from the wall and waited.

Zeblithtlar did not made his way for the door instead kept to the very center of the group. When his allies including the inferior drider and human made their move he would move with them. This strange sight was quite unnatural and unknown and the decision to run instead of fight was indeed a sound one. "There is no time to fetch the lizards... For all we know this entire chapel could be surrounded by this new danger we will have to make the trip by foot." he expressed calmly as the group were at the gates. "Also, if we can somehow seal off the gates to the outpost that would guarantee a good delay of pursuit."

Crizzt looked around and spotted more of those strange black jars scatted around up against the walls.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Somewhere not too far from the outpost and hidden within the shadows, a lone roded Drow is watching the outpost from behind a huge stalagmite for he is the one who had those strange black jars placed all over the outpost after he and a few others attacked the outpost's chalel. The attack was a fast and silent one, and now Jurzzar Hun'Sahel is waiting for his next orders as he listens to the other of his team hidden near by quitely talk among themselves while watching the outpost's gates to see if anyone they missed comes out.

Zarae followed behind the group watching the rear as they made way to the gates. she slowed her pace, still thinking its a trap.
she then began signing to those who could read the silent hand code, "wait, I think we're being watched."
she enabled her true seeing and began searching, but the small alcoves and depressions in the cavern held many advantage points. thus she would have to rely on other means. maybe set a trap of their own and draw out whoever was possibly out there.
