Shyn didn't take no for an answer and pushed her up onto his horse, and hopping up behind her. He grabbed the reigns of the other horse, not wanting to leave it behind to a cruel fate, and urged them forward as fast as he could manage, leading two horses, and holding Lisette up. They needed to get away from the road, and into some shelter of a sort. Then he had to deal with the poison, because... well, it was just right to do. "Hold on, alright? We just need to hide, and we'll look at the wound and deal with the poison."

Lisette winced as the horse moved into a gallop, feeling every jarring bump in her entire body. "Magebane," she hissed, teeth still clenched. She felt sick, struggling to breathe. The bleeding was slowing some, but it was still bad. "They were...not bandits...Shadowwynne...two days...need to get there..."

Shyn barely managed an affirmative comment as he poured his concentration into multi-tasking of a ridiculous level. Still, the illusions would hold only so much longer, until he was out of range. Even now, the mental strain was lifting as the first Drow started to vanish. As his mind's burden lifted, the horse moved faster, and he bolted away into the trees.

------------------------

About an hour later, he had set up a small camp, and was attempting to create an antidote to magebane. It'd been used on him once before, and it wasn't pleasant. If he'd retained any extra knowledge from his life among Drow, it was what poisons would kill him, and how to counter them. As an illusionist, he had access to magic, and magebane generally sucked to get hit with.

He worked away, at the antidote, restarting several times when he messed up. He hoped he could get it right in time to help Lisette. It had become a bit too late to remove the poison normally.

Lisette was in a fitful sort of half sleep, murmuring and twisting. One of the poison's side effects was nightmares, but it generally didn't kill quickly. She had a few days. The arrow wound, however, if left untreated, was probably a more certain death.

She muttered something indistinctly in her haze, fighting with some dream opponent and losing.

Shyndinn could only work so quickly, but he finally got the antidote right, before noticing that her arrow wound hadn't stopped. With a curse, he dove at trying to patch it up. He cursed his lack of paying attention, and using his cloak as bandages, he patched her up as best as he could, and covered her with his cloak. Then he tilted her head back, and made her drink the antidote. This was getting to be a lot of work, and the road tugged at him, however, he dared not move her until the bleeding stopped. He had to get her to a professional healer, but for now, this would have to do.

Lisette gave him a half smile, the bitter taste of the antidote jerking her out of her stupor. "Ready to go now?" she mumbled. "It's not too far."

Shyndinn shook his head. "I'm not moving you until the bleeding stops." After the antidote was down, he offered her some water. "It helps. I'd drink some," he said before sighing. "Try to rest. We'll get going soon."

Sauron a blood mage was strolling through the market when he came by a commotion on the streets, apparently one of the "guards" attacked a pair of non-humans. Sighing at the ignorance of the common folk Sauron pulled his robe tighter around his frame and walked on mindful of pick pocketers. Reaching the main street, a slight pull in his stomach as a pang of hunger attracted his attention. "Some one was injured" Sauron thought seeing the now dry drops of blood and adjusting his bag of morning groceries he ruminated whether to investigate or not.

(OOC: Hey, Sauron, the rest of the group was attacked out in the wilderness, not in town. And it was mercenaries, not a town guard.)

"Once we start moving, the bleeding will just start again," Lisette said wryly, trying to drink the water. It felt like the all strength had been sapped out of her limbs. The half elf hated it, particularly feeling useless. "If we ride through the night, it's two days to Shadowwynne. But I know a good healer there--Solus doesn't have one. I don't know if that village is safe, either."

Shyn chuckled. "Even if you do start bleeding again, I'd rather have you in a position where it can be stopped and controlled, than to give an empty husk to the healer. I'm not exactly equipped for healing injuries, but that's the least I can do."

He left the water with her, and some more in case she felt she could drink some more, and set to work on his latest idea for dealing with this injury. He just wished he hadn't had to scrap perfectly good bags for their durable canvas.

"I feel bloody useless," Lisette grumbled, kicking one foot and wincing at the shockwave of pain it sent through her body. "Damn it all. Bloody trap. Letters were probably forged. No wonder they were so vague and kept me off the main roads."

Shyndinn shrugged. "No one's perfect. At least we're alive. It's not my habit to step in, but that was fun," he said with a grin. He kept at the bags, using the canvas to create a hammock of sorts to be stretched out between the horses. Probably unnecessary, but planning ahead was always a good idea, and it might be better on the wound in the short term, even if Lisette hated the idea.

"Do they know you might go to Shadowwynne?"

Sauron crossed the wooden palisades at an amazing pace, his strides nearly twice of a normal man and moved over the road tucking the bags under his arms he made a note in his mind to pay the barkeep when he returned to the quaint little town. Sauron took out his well worn staff from his pocket(a telescopic model which others in his profession considered blasphemy) and used it to go, humming a merry tune he gleaned traces of drow and elf mana and made his mind accordingly to consort with them.

Lisette paused. "I...I don't know," she said, falteringly. She took a deep, painful breath. "It will be safe there. They know my family. They know me. It's the only place in this kingdom besides Graycourt that will be safe."

Shyndinn nodded. "Well, one is much closer than the other..." He finished stitching the canvas together and sighed as he went to work creating a rough wagon frame, just to keep the two horses together, out of branches. "I'd like to get you there alive though, so you'll have to put up with my working for a bit."
