Cait stared up at the stars for a long while, just outside the tent, but eventually, she came back inside and slipped into bed. She lay on her side, facing the tent wall, and stared off into space, unsure if she could sleep again.

"Cait?" Corvinus asked softly. He hadn't fallen back asleep either. "I'm sorry about what happened to you..."

Cait shook her head, curling into her pillow some more and squeezing her eyes shut. "Did you know... that time passes differently on the different planes?" she whispered.

Corvinus nodded slowly and frowned. "Yes." He whispered softly. He didn't like where this was going.

Cait sighed a little and shook her head again. "I couldn't... keep track but... if I counted right afterwards... I was there for... almost a year..."

Corvinus frowed and looked at her. "I'm sorry." He whispered gently. He shook his head and closed his eyes. "What happened to your professors?"

Cait shrugged. "I don't know," she said. "Nothing, probably."

Corvinus snarled softly and shook his head. "That's unjust." Her growled. He sighed and shook his head. "We'll get them."

Cait shook her head, hugging her pillow tighter. "No," she whispered quietly. "There's nothing to do about it."

Corvinus frowned and nodded. He didn't want to push this anymore, feeling like it would hurt Cait. He scooted closer and let his tail hug her again. "It's okay..." He murmured.

Cait shook her head a little, but after a moment, turned over, snuggled into him. She closed her eyes, putting her face in his shoulder.

Corvinus shifted a little and smiled. He draped his arm over her and fell back asleep, hoping she wouldn't have any more nightmares.

Cait tentatively curled her hand on his chest, doing her best to relax. She sighed after a little while, and slowly drifted back off to sleep. She wanted to tell him what had happened, really, but she didn't know where to start, or how. And... she didn't want him to feel like she wanted to dump it all on him in hopes of being taken care of. Even though she kind of hoped...
She slept basically soundly the rest of the night, a few hints of nightmares pushing into her dreams, but receding at the push of a red hand.

Corvinus moaned a little, obviously dreaming of better things. "Oh baby...." He murmured, smiling into Cait and snuggling in closer.

Cait didn't seem to notice as she slept. She felt decently comfortable next to him, and he hadn't touched her yet. This was the closest to trusting someone she'd gotten in a long time.
