"And then they have a child? You." He smiled wide. "I wish my life was as great as that. It sounds magical. Like a story. You know I write stories like that."

Kleo glanced over at him. "You write love stories?" she asked incredulously.

"NO!" Maxim shot away a little. "Adventured stories!" He laughed. "Of knights and heroes and battles." He said. "If he just happens to get the princess in the high tower then...so be it."

Kleo laughed lightly, smirking to himself. "You're in denial," she teased.

"I don't write mushy chicky loves stories." He sneered. "They have romance in them. But that doesn't mean they're love stories!"

Kleo laughed at him. "Uh huh," she said jokingly. "Sure." She flashed him a grin.

Maxim narrowed his eyes and reached into his pack. He pulled out a journal and shoved it into her chest. "Read, then! See for yourself."

Kleo laughed softly, catching the journal. "I was just teasing, Max," she said quickly. "Come on. Breathe."

Max huffed and pouted. "Then give it back." He said snatching the journal back. "I don't want you reading it....it's probably no good. But its not gooey love stories."

Kleo reached out for it, but gave up. "Maybe... someday you could tell me one?" she offered.

Max narrowed his eyes and held the journal to his chest. "If you promise not to make fun of it." He said softly.

Kleo shook her head, moving closer to him. "No way," she said softly. "I wouldn't. Even if they were love stories."

"They're not." Max pointed. "Really. They're advernturous." He smiled lightly and shrugged. "Are you hungry?"

Kleo shrugged a bit. "Maybe," she said lightly. "Are you? Should we dig out some rations?"

Max smirked and lifted his chin. "I'm always hungry, girl." He said holding out his hand and grinning.
