Devon slowly fell asleep against him, feeling his heart beat against his chest and then her ear. She smiled, dozing off completely.

John found rest that night too, although it was light. He wanted to make sure that if anyone came to disturb them, he'd be up and ready to protect her if needed.

Devon stirred in the morning, stretching a bit against him as she woke up a bit. She did move closer, liking how he enveloped her.

John stretched too, but not as much as he wanted to. He didn't want to kick her off the bed.

Devon grinned, stretching, but she opened her eyes to look at him and smiled. "Good morning." She whispered.

John smiled a little and opened his eyes. "Morning to you too." He whispered softly. He moved back and pulled her on top of him.

Devon laughed lightly as he pulled her on top of him. It was so easy for him. SHe smiled down and gently pressed her lips to his in a soft kiss.

John returned it, but pulled back.
"Chief, I've located the best route to the control center." Cortana said, almost purposefully intrusive.

Devon jumped a bit at the intrusion and then sighed, smiling. "Perfect timing." She said quietly and shookh er head.

John sighed and looked over at his helmet. "When do we have to leave."
"ASAP, Chief." Cortana told him. "Unless I'm interrupting something." She added with a bit of snark.

"Well. Yes you are interrupting something." Devon said back and smiling over to the helmet. "But nothing we can't pick up later right Chief?"

John smiled a little although he looked a little embarressed. He nodded. "Right." He said, getting up out of bed slowly, and gently making sure Devon was placed on the bed.

Devon sighed a little and shook her head, getting up as well and putting on her boots to get ready for the mission.

John put on his armor, and an hour later was ready to go. "This mission is going to be more covert, Chief. Strike teams of marines will be sent in the more open areas, and we'll have some heavy armored Scorpian Tanks to help you out. But the rest of the interior buildings and bridges will be yours to traverse."
