Demi glanced back to him, but only briefly. She wanted the stars to come out. Something about them was comforting to her. "You were the stag," she said softly, not answering his question. "And the dove, right?"

"Yes." Arseniko said softly. He did not press further those, following his gaze to the stars. He knew their context. What was really up there....

Demi was quiet for a moment before slowly reaching into the pocket hidden in her dress, pulling out the rope with the fig on it. "You dropped this in the forest," she said softly, finally glancing his way as she held it out to him.

Arseniko smiled a little and gently closed his hand over it. "It is a gift." He said softly. "If you are ever in need of an escape, just take a small bite. Only the tiniest is needed." He said softly.

Demi frowned a bit, looking up at him, then back to the fig. "What... will it do?" she asked softly.

Arseniko smiled a little. "It'll take you to a safe place. I'll be there. But it's only temporary." He said sweetly. "I can still visit you like this...however..." He looked around. "No one can know."

Demi quickly shook her head. "Of course," she said softly. She managed a small smile and shrugged. "Who would I tell anyways?"

Arseniko smiled a little. "You are blessed." he said softly. "Many would get jealous and press you to prove it."

Demi shook her head a bit. That wasn't what she had meant. "Thank you," she said simply though, her voice still soft.

Arseniko smiled a little and put a gentle hand on her shoulder. "You do not...seem to be happy." He said softly. "Do you have any friends in the mortal realm?"

Demi licked her lips a bit, looking down. "No," she answered quietly. "Not here, anyways."

Arseniko frowned. "You recently moved here then. Yes?" He asked softly, guessing her implication.

Demi shook her head a bit. "We are on vacation," she answered softly. "But... many of my... friends live else where. I do not see them often. And we're not very... close."

Arseniko nodded in understanding. "I am sorry to here that. in any case, I offer my own." He said softly. "I will protect you."

Demi licked her lips slightly, looking up at him. "I know I... I'm not supposed to but... may I ask why?" she whispered. "Why me?"
