Vander nodded. "I do go there to rest." He told her. "Or if I get hurt. And if I use any of my powers, I'll be visible." He told her. "That's a warning."

Eryn slowly nodded, looking at him. "Alright," she whispered, a little unsure about how he meant that...

Vander was warning her against calling him to help if other people were around. He'd appear then...
He walked with her into the house.

Eryn moved into the kitchen and quietly started working on breakfast. "Would you like to have some?" she asked softly. "I could make some extra."

"I think that would be nice." Vander said easily. "But I'll have my share later." He said with a smile.

Eryn smiled softly at him and nodded. She went about cooking and it wasn't long before an older couple and a young man walked into the house.
"Smells great sis," the young man said lightly, sitting down at the table.
"Thanks," Eryn said softly. She glanced Vander's way subtly, wondering if he was invisible to them.

Vander moved to where she was cooking. No one seemed to look his way. He watched her cook, curious. "Who are they?" He asked.

Eryn glanced to him again, a bit nervous to answer. But as they moved to wash up before taking their seats, she had a moment to whisper under her breath, "My family."

Vander followed, studying the people sitting at the table. "You have a brother. Are the older couple your parents?"

Eryn nodded subtly to him and brought over the food in the skillets she'd been cooking in, eggs, sausage and ham and hashbrowns. "I'll go get grandfather," she told them softly. She slipped out of the room as they began dishing up and moved back upstairs and down the hall.

"He's ill." Vander said softly. "I am sorry." He told her.
He could...help with that, but he wasn't sure he wanted to intrude like that just yet.

Eryn glanced at him and smiled a little. It was a sad expression but... an understanding one. "He is very old," she whispered. "But he is still holding on."
She knocked on the door at the end of the hall softly, but entered without waiting for an answer. "Goodmorning, Grandpa," she said softly.
The man in the bed was old, yes, but he didn't look ancient. He opened his eyes, propped up on the pillows behind him. "Morning, sunshine," he said happily. His voice was gruff, but kind.
Eryn smiled at him. She seemed very happy to see him. She was closest to her grandfather. They spent a lot of time together. She moved over and helped him up and helped him get dressed.

Vander studied them. 'He is in a lot of pain." He whispered softly. "I could help." He offered.

Eryn glanced at Vander with a small frown.
"What is it, Sunshine?" Grandfather asked, catching her frown.
Eyrn looked back to him and smiled a little, shaking her head. "Nothing, Grandpa," she whispered. She kissed his cheek. "Ready for breakfast?"
The man nodded, but he followed her gaze in Vander's direction. He couldn't see him of course, but he'd seen his granddaughter's gaze that direction.
Eryn helped him downstairs and to the table, and even helped him with his food. She barely got a chance to eat anything for herself. And the rest of the family was quickly finished and back out to work.

Vander frowned a bit, watching the family dynamic. Everyone seemed to put the more important work on her. He moved over and studied the kitchen, staying out of the way.
