Mark was sitting in his office. Tired because he hadn't gotten any sleep. But he pushed through till lunch before picking up his phone and calling Kara. He didn't want to interrupt her, but, he was hoping to catch her on her break too.

Kara answered her phone easily after a couple rings, smiling to a guest and excusing herself. "Hello?" she asked easily.

"Hello? Hey Kara. Am I interrupting anything?" He asked first off and foremost. He sat in the break room alone, eating a turkey sandwich.

Kara smiled a little, walking into the kitchen. "No no," she said calmly. "What's up?"

"Oh nothing much. On my break." he told her. "I got a call from that real estate guy, I definitely have the interview. It sounds completely promising. Trying not to get my hopes up though."

Kara smiled a bit and nodded, sipping some coffee. "That's good," she said. "When's the interview?"

"Friday morning." Mark said. "I'll have to get up pretty early to make sure I catch the bus. I'm not going to miss it!" He laughed a bit.

Kara laughed a little at that and nodded. "Well if you do, call me," she said lightly.

"You've saved my ass once, hopefully its not needed." He said easily. "But anyway. How's your day going?"

Kara smiled a bit, nodding. "Pretty good," she said. "My manager is being snobby as usual, my chef burnt herself pretty bad but she seems alright now... The Poe Society is here so it's a little ominous with a couple of them hanging out in the lobby, couple others in the dining room..."

"Poe? As in Edgar Allen Poe? I remember having to do a report on one of his stories back in school. They're disturbing." He said slowly. "Seems like a big day. Hope there are no ravens camping outside. Freaky."

Kara laughed softly. "Yeah I hope no walls start rattling or anything," she said softly. "But as long as I hide in the kitchen it seems to be going alright."

Mark laughed a bit. "I hear you. I hide in the break room a floor below me. The tech guys don't take lunch breaks when I do. Its nice and peaceful."

Kara smiled a little and nodded. "That's good," she said lightly. "If you like that peace and quiet and all."

"Well, I wish I was good at making friends at work, but its hard to bond over anything other how much you hate this job." He told her. "Not to mention everyone is ten years younger then me. Or more."
