Kiya swallowed a little and nodded. She wondered just who was left... what would happen to them. "I think it probably... shames my ancestors for me to say this," she whispered. "But a part of me is... relieved you came when you did..."

Evhad frowned deeply at that. "I do not understand." He said softly. "I have not done a kind thing."

Kiya smiled a little, looking down. "I was... as terrified of my marriage as I was... when you dragged me from it," she whispered hesitantly.

Evhad frowned, but he nodded. "To be forced into something..." He frowned. "I am sorry. I understand."

Kiya gently hugged the baby in her arms. She wasn't sure how she should feel now. But she thought... maybe she could make the best of this.

Evhad watched her. "Cunetyl seems to have taken a like to you." He whispered, smiling a little, trying to change the subject.

Kiya smiled a little. "He seems like a good little man," she whispered.

Evhad nodded. "He is quiet." He whispered. "He understands, they say. He will be smart." He nodded slowly. "Yes."

Kiya smiled a little, studying the baby. "That will be good," she said softly.

Evhad nodded a little. "A great tactician." He said softly. "I wouldn't want him to fight. Can't lose him."

Kiya smiled a little at that. "You will be a great father, Evhad," she said softly.

Evhad puffed out his chest, and with that, he obviously pushed her forward a little. They came upon a little oasis again, and Evhad had to set up camp early. They had made excellent time today. "We should bathe him." He said, after setting up in the tent. "In the pond under the tree."

Kiya slowly nodded. "Alright," she said softly. She followed him closely, holding the baby to her chest. She was a little nervous being out around the others... but he had said she was safe with him.

Evhad glared at any man that looked at her. He came to the pond and dipped his feet in the cool water. The baby wriggled though in her arms, sensing he was being carried, and not to his cradle.

Kiya stopped at the edge of the pond, not stepping into it. She managed a small smile and gently handed the baby over to his father.
