Kleo laughed softly, but she nodded. "Well come on then," she said, picking up the pace. "We better get there fast."

Max smiled and kept up. "How long will it take to get there? A long time?" He asked lightly with a smile.

Kleo shrugged a little. "Probably a month or so," she said quietly. "It is a little ways away."

"Wow, and you've wandered so far. Got some wanderlust in you?" He asked lightly, teasing. "How did you get here?"

Kleo shrugged. "Just started traveling," she said quietly. "My dad told me my mom had been the same way. It wasn't until she had me that they settled down..."

Maxim smiled and nodded. "Can you tell me more about your parents? How they met? How they became a family?"

Kleo thought for a moment. "My mother was a mage," she said quietly. "And she rescued my father. From these awful people running a freak show..."

Max frowned and shook his head. "That's horrible." He said softly. "Does he have ears or does he look human?"

"He looks human," Kleo said softly. "Until the full moon." She shrugged a bit. "They'd throw him in a cage outside for people to see..."

Max shooked his head, upset. "How did your mother save him?" He asked softly.

"My dad told me she'd just stumbled on the show," she said softly. "But she got real made when she saw what they were doing and blasted the roof off the cage. He got out and she followed him."

Maxim nodded. "I would too." He said angrily. "That's ridiculous." He said. "If you were put in a cage I'd fight through crowds to free you."

Kleo laughed softly. "Too bad I didn't know you when I was nine then," she said lightly. "But I had my daddy then anyways." She smiled at him. "But yeah... after he changed back they met and traveled together and fell in love. And she could help with his transformations too. Make them less painful and faster."

Max smiled and nodded. "Wow. You imagine? Someone saves your life and then you just fall in love with them?"

Kleo smiled a bit and nodded. "It's a rare story," she murmured.
