Ulyssus nodded slowly. "Partheon, Themus, Jarken and Feliude, and we are going to have to wait it out." He murmured. "Those are my orders." He sighed and saw his son in the distance, set up on his archer line. "May the Gods watch over us all..."

Hixon nodded, falling quiet. He was lucky he was on good terms with Ulyssus, had been friends with his son. He sometimes forgot about rank, and would have been getting himself into a lot of trouble with any other officer of the army.

Night fell, and the cold rain pounded down. The group, himself and Hixon ran across the side to the edge of the cliff, here the rock met the tower wall. The archers up there were all wounded, and Ulyssus smiled, recognizing that many of the arrows that had hit the men had the mark of his Tekan. He slowly slipped down the cliff and landed on the flat wall. The fort was inside, and many of the soliders were trying their best to hold the door.
Ulyssus waved them forward, and he silently set about killing the remaining archers on the top wall.

Hixon followed, easily and eagerly helping with the remaining defenses. Then he ran ahead, quickly getting one of the doors to the tower open so they could get inside and to the levers on the gates.

Ulyssus held off a few arrows with his shield, but one flew through Partheon's head, sending him tumbling off the frontface of the wall.
Ulyssus didn't have time to even think about them as the men down below in the fort quickly caught on. "Get the other door open!" He shouted.

Hixon nodded and quickly kicked it in, forgetting about quiet. It wasn't worth losing more of them. He took the lead, charging down the stairs and taking care of anyone coming up to meet them.

Ulyssus was at Hixon's side, guarding him from arrows from the side. His shield was large.
Heavy, but it served a great purpose.
He charged in and cut men down swiftly, born for this battle. Born into this rage.

Hixon quickly got to the levers and started tugging at them. One of the other men had to help him with the heavy gates, but they were quickly opened. Hixon grinned at the success. "Shall we join the others?" he asked lightly, excited.

Ulyssus nodded. "Yes!" He laughed, charging into battle. He wasn't a monster, but a part of him enjoyed the blood shed. Who didn't? The smell of victory was so close, and with his heart pounding he felt alive.

Hixon grinned and quickly joined the fray. It wasn't long until they'd taken the fort and the men were celebrating with the spoils of war. The fork had drink and food aplenty, and they'd found where the majority of the women had been hidden away.
Hixon grabbed a bottle of wine for himself, but he wasn't too interested in the women. He sat in a chair outside his tent, watching his fellow men enjoy themselves with passing interest. He sat forward after a few moments though as some men dragged a young woman into the middle of their small circle of tents.
She was gorgeous, under the dirt they'd dragged her through. Her dress was now brown and muddy, and torn in various places. Her skin was fair, and her hair light. There were petals in her hair, like she had worn a flower there.
Hixon was impressed as she continued to try to get away, even then. She lashed out against them and tried to scramble away. She got hit across the face for it, sending her back into the mud again.

A booming voice pierced the celebrations though, and it was known to be none other than Ulyssus. He moved forward, chest bare, and stone expression. "CEASE YOUR RABBLE!"

Hixon glanced up but didn't move, smirking. He congratulated himself on knowing better.
The men around the girl quickly backed up, letting her go. She was crying silently, her eye already fading black and her lip split, blood slowly dripped down her cheek from the ring the man had been wearing when he hit her. She scrambled back nervously, seeing the large man though.

Ulysuss moved forward and his brow raised to the sight of the woman. She was injured, yet stunningly beautiful. He was suddenly digusted by his men. He looked around them all. "We won our battles, today." He informed them. "We fought bravely. Many of us have died. We can celebrate, yes!" He said, the men nodded and grinned, thinking briefly that Ulyssus was on their side.
"But this." He gestured to the woman stepping closer. "Is disgusting!" He shouted angrily. "We are not brutes! We are soldiers!"
His nostrils flaired and his fists clenched. The men all took a step back. "We will enjoy the spoils tonight. We have not felt the comfort of women in many months." He moved around all of them. "I understand the temptation, and I do not frown upon that. But we must NOT treat such a creature like we have our enemies! Understood?!"

The men all nodded together, looking down. Then one by one, they scattered into the fray. The young woman sniffed, looking around. It was obvious she was wondering what would happen to her now.

Ulyssus stepped forward and offered a hand. "Come with me. I'll get you cleaned up." He said. "I'm not here to pleasure in the 'spoils'. I lost two sons to the war. This victory barely lifted the pain." He was candid with her, at least, and his eyes held a gentle honesty.
