Arseniko smiled a little and handed it to her. "If only you were covered in tiny dew drops." He said with a soft laugh.

Demi laughed a bit, taking the small flower. "I think I might pass on that," she said softly.

Arseniko smiled a little and laughed. "You beauty is still unmatched." He said simply.

Demi smiled over at him. "Thank you," She whispered softly.

Arseniko leaned in. "You know..." He said softly with a gentle smile, brushing his hand across her cheek. "You are unmatched by even the goddess's and the nymphs."

Demi blinked, looking up at him. "You shouldn't... say that," she whispered. "It's... blasphemous... and they'll get word of it and be mad at me." She managed a small, breathy laugh.

"Jealousy?" He smiled a little, leaning over her and his hair fell beside his face. "They should be you know. Do not fret, my Demi. No one is within earshot and I'll protect you."

Demi looked up at him, a little startled that he was so close. But she smiled and nodded a bit. "Alright," she whispered.

Arseniko hovered over her and seemingly drank her in with his shining eyes. "Who was your mother and father?"

Demi took a breath, still feeling a bit nervous so near to him. "My father... is one of the emperor's advisers," she said softly.

Arseniko leaned back but generally moved closer. He smiled at her. "Yes?" He asked softly. "And your mother?"

Demi looked down, licking her lips. "She died," she said quietly. "Two months ago."

Arseniko frowned. He could barely imagine mortality...and how hard that was to handle. "I am so sorry." He said softly. He looked to her with sadness in his eyes.

Demi looked out over the stream, unable to face him for the moment. "Me too," she said quietly. She absently ran her hands through the grass, letting the last drops of dew dampen her fingers.
