Hawk lowered his head and smiled at that, unsheathing his curved blade. "Thank you, brother." he whispered. He patted his back and pointed ahead. "There...a Forger cat."
It had barely moved.

Merci shrugged. "Trust me...It's not that great. Not at our age." She paused. You know though...about my uncle. Even the priests think it is too much for the Gods to take." she whispered. "They sense..." She leaned in. "That the children's souls are just disapearing."

Aimee frowned. "Really?" She whispered back. "I mean... well, what do you think? What does he think?" She shook her head. "The Gods would not just take the souls... would they?"

Drysn nodded and crept as close as he thought wise before drawing his bow string and taking his shot. He hit the creature square in the chest, motioning for Hawk to go to it, finish the kill.

Hawk swiftly moved forward and finished the kill swiftly, carrying the cat back in his mouth, climbing up the wall. "Come brother. We eats in safety tonight." he pressed, getting nervous. And Iron Golem paraded through the streets. Hawk's eyes opened wide. "Woah..."

***

Merci frowned. "I don't know, Aimee." she said softly. "The Mother Meliath is supposed to be kind. Cradle the sacrificed and lead them to the heavens. But the priests do not sense that the children were taken at all."
She heard shouting outside, and everyone in the bar raised their head.
"HERETIC! HERETIC! PAGAN!"

Aimee looked to Merci and grabbed her hand, running out to the street to see what was going on. It was a pagan? She had an odd fascination with them that had always been kept quiet.

Drysn's eyes went wide, and he ran for Hawk. "Let's get out of here," he said quickly, his voice hushed. He ran along the top of the wall quickly, dropping down when appropriate to get back home.

Hawk turned back. "Wait!" he hissed. "What if it's one of us?" he said. "We have to do something!" He grabbed Drysn's hand. "Please?"

***

Merci was drug out into the street. There was a huge parade in the street. "They're taking them to the stadium." she said, looking over, curious herself.
"Come on!" she tugged her friend through the streets and climbed ontop of a building. Looking over it all. Two were dragging onto the metal floor of the stadium, and torches lit up all around.

Drysn frowned, turning to the crowd, but he nodded, slipping his bow back onto his shoulder. "Go," he whispered. "Lead on."

Aimee watched them. "Why do they do this?" She asked, shaking her head. "I mean... it's not like those people did anything wrong. Merci... this is not right..."

Hawk leaped through the empty steets like an angile feline. He climbed ontop of a roof and slithered along, keeping low. He noticed two characters on the roof a few down, but he ignored them for now.

***

"Shut up!" she said smacking her friend hard. "Do you want to join them?" She looked back over as a woman was hung over an incinerator. "Pagan? She doesn't look Pagan at all...wait..."
A male with longer hair was also hung beside her. "Uncle!" she hissed below her breath. "And Iona...gosh! Who's the pagan?!"

The Priest stood up before the gathering crowd. "Hear me! this night, betrayel is upon us! Iona! The dear wife of Lord Auron is Pagan herself! Their children's souls have disapeared, and thy St. Goliath is displeased!"
There was booing. The Iron Golems walked up.
"This nightfall, we shall repent our blindness to these heretics!"

Drysn followed along carefully, a little slower than Hawk, but no less agile. He listened carefully to all the voices around them.

Aimee frowned, watching. She kept her mouth shut, but her eyes couldn't leave the two people in the stadium. "Gods this is..." She shook her head. "Merci, can't we go?" She said, but her eyes didn't leave.

Hawk frowned. "I don't recognize her." he whispered. "She looked Forger to me, I thinks." he glanced over to Drsyn beside him. "How could they do this?"

***

Merci grabbed her friends arm and hauled her forward. "We watch." she whispered. "We must learn."
She was angry at her uncle now. She would have to repent about feeling sorry for him later.

"---So Saint Goliath! Mighty! The Great Forger of our earth! Please! Forgive us! And condemn these souls to the Hells of your fire!"
The two large Iron Golems grabbed the levers and cranked them.
The man looked to the woman. He was crying. But she just looked at him back and smiled.
Fires shot up and consumed them both.

Drysn swallowed and watched, half frozen. Eventually, he shook his head. "I don't... know..." He turned away from the burning corpses. "We shouldn't be here brother."

Aimme put a hand over her mouth to stop herself from screaming. She hated these... so much. She closed her eyes tightly and turned her head to her shoulder.
