"Yeah...Sorry." He murmured, recalling his tossing. He got up from the table and moved into the kitchen. "Keep an eye on the computer. I'm going to make Katie's french toast." He whispered, taking out a pan.

Annika nodded. "She should go to a doctor... as soon as possible." She said quietly. "Even if she isn't going to keep the baby she needs to get on pre-natal meds and nurtrition... also she needs to know what not to eat and... all of that." She shrugged al ittle bit.

Sam nodded slowly. "Yeah..." He whispered. "I remember when Regan was pregnant well enough. Didn't think my daughter would make the same mistakes. Not after I drilled her during her teen years." He glanced over. "Regan and I we....had a stormy affair one night. Not sure what happened. I remember using protection--maybe not for all of it. It was just a one night thing but a month later she calls me and tells me she's pregnant. So... I marry her. Do my best...but I was in the Seals. Not much I could do to be around."

Annika nodded. "It's understandable." She said and shrugged a little bit, sitting down in the chair by the computer. "You did the best you could at that time."

"It wasn't enough." Sam shrugged a little. "I hated that fact but...I thought Regan would meet someone to father Katie better then I could. She never did." He explained, cracking the eggs into a bowl.

Annika shrugged. "Sometimes it doesn't happen." She said quietly, glancing at the computer. "But she became a really amazing young woman... the fact that she is being so strong during this is proof."

Sam smiled a little and nodded. "She is." He murmured softly. He was proud of Katie...he really was but it wasn't selfish pride like...he had much to do with it. He loved his daughter with all his heart. Even after her mother died she was a trooper. Difficult....but still she was a trooper.
"I just want to see her happy. I want her protected and I want her to be successful." He murmured. He started makingthe french toast slowly. "I'll get her an appointment today but... we really should be working on those decryptions."

Annika nodded. "We will." She said, but she glanced up at him. "Still though Sam... there are more important things then work." She said quietly.

Sam sighed. "You know...this isn't just work I do." He said softly. "I've provided intel that prevented three wars that you didn't even know where going to happen." He murmured. "I thought getting revenge on the ones who sold you was important."

Annika frowned. "It is important to me, but your daughter is more important to you." She said slowly, watching him.

Sam looked over and shook his head. "You're both important people to me." He said softly. "I know you might not feel the same way but...Annika I really have..." He exhaled and shook his head, turning back to the pan. "I care for you."

Annika still watched him. "I know." She said softly. "But your daughter is... you daughter and she should come before anything else... me included."

Sam nodded and put the toast on the plate. He put it in the microwave so they would stay warm.
He moved over to her and sat down in the chair near her. He folded his hands. "Where are we going with this?" He asked softly. "With us?"

Annika watched him. They were really going to have that talk? "What do you mean?" she asked slowly, quietly.

Sam sighed and studied her. He was never good with these things, but after what Katie said.....
"I don't..." He sighed a little and closed his eyes.
