Steve smiled. "We'll both be having a classic burger." He said easily. "Thank you," He leaned in and saw her name tag. "Emma."

The girl grinned at that, bouncing slightly in excitement. "Okay," she said, almost giddily, then quickly turned and moved back again.
Melissa watched her go, then looked back to Steve. "Okay am I missing something?" she asked quietly. "She seems... way too excited to be talking to you..." Although she regretted saying that. If he was someone famous and she hadn't noticed she'd feel like a huge moron...

"She...uhm. She must be mistaken." He said, sipping his coke. He was a bit upset it had come in a cup and not in the bottle, but he wasn't about to complain. He cleared his through and scooted toward the wall a bit, fiddling with the salt shaker.

Melissa frowned a bit but slowly nodded. "Okay," she said softly. "Must just be because you know... you're so handsome..." She glanced down at her water, feeling stupid saying that, but she felt how uncomfortable he was and maybe she could lighten the mood...

Steve smiled a little and actually blushed. "Well, uhm. You're really pretty too." he said softly, pushing back his hair. "I have to admit its been awhile since I've been out to eat with a doll like you."
He rolled up his straw wrapper and look down at the table.

Melissa smiled at that, glancing at him. "Thanks," she whispered. She licked her lips a bit and took a sip of her water. "So um... what all do you do now? That you're... you know back from being in the military?"

"Well, just...stuff. Odd things like that. I work out a lot and, I guess I like to relax." He shrugged a bit.
save the world from being destroyed...stuff along those lines...

"Oh yes." Steve said. "It's a lot to adjust to though, surprisingly." He shrugged a bit. "But I like it here."

Melissa smiled a little and nodded. "That's good," she said softly.
The waitress came over and handed them their burgers. "Is there anything else I can get you?" she asked, again focusing just on Steve.

"I think we're fine here, thanks." He said easily. He looked at her burger and licked his lips. It looked damn good. He picked it up and took a modest bite, enjoying how familiar it was...if there was anything that didn't change...

Melissa smiled a bit, ignoring being ignored. At least being around him was a good distraction. She did check the time though, just in case. She picked up the bottle of ketchup on the table, a good old fashioned glass bottle, and gently poured some onto the edge of her fries.

Steve took the bottle next and poured some ketchup. He chomped on his food, a bit overwhelmed but the portion. He finished his burger in no time and he finished his coke right up. "Well.' He said easily. "That was a great meal." He took an envelope out of his pocket and opened it up. "How much should I tip?" He asked, pulling out the exact change that he predicted for the bill.

Melissa smiled a little at him, thinking it was cute that he asked that. "Maybe... ten percent?" she offered, since she hadn't paid attention to what the burgers had been priced at. "But um... really I can get mine. I don't mind."

Steve waved his hand at her and calculated ten percent in his head from the bill and placed it on the table. "Can't believe how the prices skyrocketed." He shrugged a bit. "I guess that's normal right?"

Steve Rogers
