"Nothing yet. It depends on why you lead me here, why you left the map."

I replied, trying to gauge him with a minor squint.

Dryn nodded, "I suppose I thought you might want to thank the one who saved your life, that and maybe repay the debt of saving your life."

Dryn glanced at the man. "That is, unless you think you don't owe me anything."

I smiled a little at his remark,

"I believe I do owe you something, you did save my life after all, and have given me a chance to pursue my own work. But before that I must pay my debt. Did you have something in mind?"

I relaxed a little but my senses were still on alert, watching, waiting, listening for anything out of the ordinary.

Dryn motioned him to come closer, withdrawing the schematics from his belt pouch and laying it on a small desk. “I will not force you to work for me, it has to be of your own free will.” Dryn paused as his gaze swept over the schematics. “In my line of work, one must be very careful.”

I obliged with a few paces forwards and a glance down at the schematic, it was well drawn and highly detailed.

"Well, do I get to know what the job is before I agree to it?"

Dryn smiled, "Very well. My, Employer hired me to retrieve some stolen documents, located here."

Dryn pointed to a small room. "And if necessary, dispose of said merchant."

Dryn stroked his goatee. "My problem? How to get in and out without killing anyone, for that is what my employer wishes."

I smiled, I was not used to the words; 'Without killing anybody'. It felt strange and alien to my ears.

"Very well, I'll help, although I'm not used to stealth and shadow. What do you need me to do? And is anybody else involved?"

Dryn smiled slyly. “I as unaccustomed to the words as you are, but I have to meet my employers wishes.”

Dryn studied the schematics carefully. “If I had I diversion I should be able to get in and out quickly here..”
Dryn pointed to a window, two levels above ground. “I’ll need about ten minutes to scale the walls, over all I should be about half an hour.”

Dryn looked at the man. “What should I call you sir?”

With a small grin I responded;

"My birth name is Uthar but you may call me what you wish. What kind of distraction are you looking for? A brawl? Maybe some women to hold their attention?"

Dryn paused thoughtfully, "Maybe a bit of both, if we had some woman to cause a seen, and then have a little brawl start over her.." Dryn's eyes lit up. "It could work, But to find the woman?"

I pursed my lips a little in thought.

"There was one woman I noticed... What was her name? Jade I think it was. Small, flirty little thing. But I don't know; I know nothing of this village. Do you believe there might be a better option? She seemed quite trustworthy."

It dawned to me that this man might not know much of this village either; he could be here solely for the purpose of the job he was employed to do.

"Do you live here?"

Dryn shook his head, “I do not live here, No. But I have studied vast amounts of diagrams of the area.”

“Jade, where have I heard that name before?” Dryn ran his hand through his hair in thought. “

I shrugged.

"The bartender might know who she is. Personally I have no clue. She directed me to the tavern is all I know."

Dryn nodded, "Well then friend, If you would get this Jade, i will meet you here." Dryn pointed at a little alleyway. "I have some business to take care of first."

I inclined my head,

"Very well, I'll see what I can do."

Turning back I exited the room and moved down back to the tavern's bar. The bartender was serving a pile of customers and I decided to wait, looking around at the tavern's patrons. Several beautiful women caught my eye and I offered many of them a smile. A few returned it, some encourage it while others (Most I will admit) turned away with indifference. In the corner of the tavern, in an enshrouded, dark booth, hooded and cloaked figures kept their heads down, throwing quick glances around at the drunkards.

I turned around and faced the bar, although I kept alert and weary. Eventually the barkeep returned. I nodded a greeting before quickly addressing the matter I was tasked with.

"Your friend Jade, what can you tell me about her?"
