A more promising venture this one: a new chat role-playing website BU-RP.com is set go live end of September. Boundless Univerise will use a hybrid forum/chatroom system. I spoke to the creator via IM and she sounds highly enthused and wants to create an environment and atmosphere of old (she's an old Yahoo player).
Keep an eye out over there.
